When you hear “Volvo”, what is the first word that comes to mind? Wait, did you think of something?
Ok, then. Let me take a guess.
Was the word “safety” or one of its close relatives like “security” or “protection”?

Brand Positioning & Market Cap
For Volvo, there might be no greater asset than the instant connection their brand has with feelings of safety and security.
To illustrate, let’s consider the company was forced to split into two parts. One side would get all of the technology and the other side would get the brand name, logo and consumer trust that comes with them.
Which would you take? I know my choice.
And that brings us back to my original question.
Who will emerge as The Volvo of the Gaming Industry?
Who is going to recognize that responsible gambling is an investment with tremendous upside rather than an expense to be minimized?
Who is going to make courageous decisions that will hurt short-term share price, but that establish long-term customer trust?
It’s going to take guts and vision, but someone is going to do it.
And I believe they will win.
