“At (insert company name here), responsible gambling is at the heart of everything we do.”

Seriously, folks. Can we stop with this nonsense?

Every time I hear this I imagine a small piece of the brand’s goodwill dying off, never to be reclaimed.

Yes, I know many great things are being done to address problem gambling. However, to say that it’s a focus of all parts of the organization is simply not true.

When you say things that aren’t true, you lose credibility for the things that actually are true. Can you see why this is adding to the problem, not fixing it?

It’s my hope that one day a company may be able to make such a statement as this and have it be factual. Until then, be honest and drop that line.

It’s not doing you any favors.
